| Tosser! Have just watched a memorial attended by Tony Blair to K Bigley. It was very moving but, I couldn't help thinking... Why? Why when there are so many people dying (soldiers of Black Watch/US Troops and innocent Iqai people in Fallugah sp?)) is Tony Blair attending the a service of rememberance of a professional contractor who was being being paid well for what he knew was a dangerous job, but is not attending the funnerals of servicemen he sent to Iraq on what can only be described as a lie. How he could stand there and give a speech as if he cared about the people who are dieing, i really don't know. I don't know how he sleeps at night, I couldn't. EDIT: I normally like to see people reply to my posts, but in this case i don't give a shit, I just had to get that off my chest :-(

| Hi Andy, Woz trying to be polite and not incur the anger of younger members parents!! My description would be that TB is more along the lines of James Hunt! (And I know it's my fault, I voted labour last time - not to be repeated.) Come on Maggie! (I'm 34!)

| I sort of agree with you here, Darren. All through the hostage thing I couldn't help thinking that sure, it was a great tragedy for the family, but Ken Bigley wasn't exactly Terry Waite. He wasn't there for some great altruistic purpose; some wonderful self-sacrifice for the people of Iraq. He was there because someone offered him a shed load of money to do a job that he wouldn't have got paid half as much for at home. He knew the risks and took a chance. It was greed that got him killed. As I say, a great tragedy for the family and they have my sympathy, but I don't see any reason for the PM to attend to represent us at the funeral. Our soldiers are different. They have no choice but to go and there's no significant financial benefit to them whether they go or not. They do it purely out of duty and those that die deserve the Nation's thanks. That's where our PM should be. Now that might keep him rather busy, which might give him cause to think about kitting our troops out properly.

| although keneth bigley may or may not have been there for the money he did not deserve to die the way he did . As for our servicemen serving in iraq i still feel they are there partly as some kind of PR excersise ?i meen what was the point of sending 400-500 black watch soldiers into iraq when clearly they wasnt needed and for only 3 weeks as well ??something doesnt ring true |

| Ask yourself, would you go for a pint with TB. Or any member of a Government? Personally I would prefer to stand at a bar with a hungry boa. Equally slippery but you know what the snake wants and how it will get it. Not bullsh***and bluster and false promises. Plus I would happily tell my mates I drank with a snake; not true of the PM or his cronies.

| personaly pez i think tb is a a puppet to bush and hes dancing to any tune that george w is playing !and its wairing a little thin that we have to move our troops at the drop of a hat, and as for drinkin a pint with tb i would rather try to argue with the krays than drink in the same bar ??? |
