Angry Starting my own appeal

I have just recieved my mobile bill for the month ending 3rd January 2005. This is the date I returned from my 2 weeks in the maldives (which I couldnt afford but went anyway) We all know what went on on boxing day and thanks to the hundreds of texts and phone calls from people concerned over my well being.

I HAVE A £520 BILL!

Obviously I'm greatfull and touched by the concern but having recieved this bill I'm now feeling very sorry for myself

On top of that the insurance company have told me that the Video and housing are considered a pair of items and that they have a single item (read pair) upper limit of £300. So the £3000 setup which got wrecked in my dive on Boxing day morning is going to get me a £300 payout.

So overall that was one hell of an expensive holiday!

Oh and 13 panels of fence blew down last night along with the posts - guess what - fence damage was excluded from the house insurance after the tornado in Selsey a few years ago

And my holiday insurance company - to who I paid a annual fee only 4 weeks ago have just informed me that the policy has changed and solo diving which was included if you were qualified has now been specifically excluded.

Rant over..............

I'm alive and in a far better position than most............ but once again .... those dammed insurance companies.... pay your money and they wriggle out of it anyway. (I wonder if I'm covered for emergency telephone use)

Hi Dave,

I am sorry to hear this set of events. Does your household insurance cover any of your stuff? If so, and to a higher limit they can pay the difference between what the holiday insurance have paid and your house contents insurance.

You're right, they are bastards.

Cheers

Dave

No, the household insurance has the same single item limit for sports exquipment and excludes in use claims for diving and thats on a new for old full accidental damage policy.

No I suppose I could walk down the road this morning and drop it but that would be dishonest and I dont want to go down that road

Sorry to hear it, but glad you are OK - we still have someone "unaccounted for".

Insurance companies are the lowest form of shit on the planet.....

Dave
you must have been a real bad boy in a former life to get this crap in this one.
Shame cos you aint a bad bloke really.

A work colleague of mine made false claims on his Insurance and they paid out, seems they only penalise the honest mate. Give it a while and make up a false claim later.

Matt

Try writting a polite letter to the phone company and see if they give you any credit or sympathy. I doubt it but try it anyway.

As for insurance companies, they can go to hell, pubic lice have higher respect than them (not that I personally know!)

I for one didn't ring ya as i knew / thought that you would end up paying the bill, BUT i was checking the Selsey Bill lifeboat website every few hours just in case your webmaster put up some news

Visit ya friendly dive shop owner for some DODGY till tickets , make a big mega claim
