....................actually I'm not but it did make you look, sorry

I was going to post yesterday but decided not to as I really don't want to offend anyone, but as you know women can change their minds.

However do we really need all this public "I am off" business. If you don't want to contribute anymore for whatever reasons why not just log off, take a break and maybe come back when you have calmed down. It's a forum people come and go, it's a fact of life.

This isn't meant to offend anyone, but it really is getting quite boring.

It's all in the delivery - I guess it's in the how you say good bye that counts.

rightly or wrongly some people feel that the community feel of YD has been eroded to extinction by some heavy handed moderation or admin intervention.

The 'Goodbye' posts are often a reaction to that feeling and are in many ways a statement of dis-satisfaction.

As to my personal view on the admins and moderation of this site, they aren't a secret, but this is not the thread to discuss them.

Lets face it if people disapeared without a trace they woulkd have to face loads of Why? emails, better to explain and go.

Juz hit the nail on the head with the above post.

Some might, others wouldn't. In a lot of cases people just want to make a big noise because they'd like to feel they were missed. There can be little worse than leaving some kind of community without anyone noticing. If you're already angry for some reason that would just rub salt in the wounds.

By making a song-and-dance about it you solicit a response and hopefully a bit of sympathy for your 'cause'.

There are some high-profile personalities on here who have made or still make valuable contibutions and the loss of whom has been or would be a detriment to YD. Similarly, in the years I've been in my job there have been key personnell around whom a whole team has pivoted. But people do move on and the organisation is much bigger than any individual. They are missed for a short while but soon forgotten.

It's no different here. When I've had enough I'll be sloping off quietly. Long before anyone thinks to miss me they will have forgotten who I was. And YD will go on, and so will I.

1. Put your hand in a bucket of water, then pull it out to see how big a hole you leave.

2. YD seems to have lots of people taking their balls in. We must be nearly ball-less by now. Still, if Jay / andy2tanks decided to, I'm sure the higher number of spat out dummies and discarded toys could be part-exchanged or at least sold on eBay to raise cash for new balls.

You still here? I thought you had left ages ago

Like Mark said it's no big deal, if people are not happy with the board and feel that they no longer want to use YD then fine, everyone has to make their own decision.

If they want to post a polite farewell then that is their choice.

Daz
