When I moved house last year (September) I filled out a form to update my details on the electoral roll. For whatever reason, this wasn't done and I am no longer on the roll so cannot vote today!! So I feel that I can complain even though I won't be voting.

The current system does not allow for a protest vote - the only way is spoil the paper or not turn up. Here's to a "none of the above muppets" option one day.

I filled in the electoral role form but was too late to be able to vote this time.

I also reserve the right to complain bitterly no matter what the outcome as I'm british and its my birth right to complain about anything but do sod all about it.

I shall not be voting and it will make no difference to who my MP is - before the boundary changes, we always had a conservative MP and following labours adjustments to boundaries, we now always get a labour MP - and I don't wish to vote for either of the candidates - I have used my vote in the past as a protest and would cheerfully vote for a monster raving loony party candidate if we had one, I have voted green and Lib/Dem in the past but will not be voting today unless someone drags me from the house to do so

As for complaining, there is little to choose between the two main partys' economic policies and most of the rest of their election propaganda is mud slinging at one another, so yes I will choose to complain, until there's a viable third party in the country, then perhaps voter apathy wouldn't be taking over

oh stop the whinging and go out to vote.

People have died to gain that right and here in the UK it is treated as some kind of joke.

If you can't agree with the national policies, vote for who you think will do the best for your local area.

Being involved in a democracy, voting is a duty not a priviledge.

No matter what I vote I will get a Labour MP so why vote? lol I used to hold views like you about voting until I realised it makes no damn difference to my life one way or another As for voting for who would do best for us locally, the current MP will do so I will sit back and watch him get re-elected - and Im not whinging I just don't give a damn

so what, maybe 45% of your consituency have the same opinion? gosh, just think, if they ALL voted, maybe the answer would be different?

Like it's never happened that a 'safe seat' has been lost?

What was that quote ... something like "for evil to triumph all that is required is that good people do nothing"?
