What with the job I do and possibly my internal make-up, its really quite rare that I see something that I find moving.

However, seeing Bob Geldof bring on the beautiful African lady who had 10 minutes left to live 20 years ago, who has now finished her agricultural degree in Africa and has grown up due to Live Aid's efforts, I felt I had to post something here...

So if you haven't been to www.live8live.com and signed the electronic petition then stop whatever you're doing and DO IT NOW!!!!!!

I like a lot of people am not too sure how this will change things for the better, but if it makes one person live a better life then who are we to complain about that? So spend a minute of your time to add your name to the long list of people and lets get some pressure applied worldwide to G8.

Then lets hope they take note of it.......

Yep signed up earlier today, everytime I see that VT and hear the Car's track I end up in tears. It only take one sucess story and it's all worth it.

Am I getting old or was the original lineup 20 years ago better. Still it's not about bands.

Added my name to the list. If can change one life, it is all worth it. Think about it, down to the 'luck of the draw' of the situations we are born in, it could be one of us in a worse situation?

I'll give you U2, but just watched the Killers and J Ross has been going on about them all morning, don't see what the fuss was about. Maddonna and Annie Lennox highlights for me. Green Day I think were in Berlin and they looked awful.

I only wish Queen where there.

Annie Lennox is a highlight for me so far, Dido andnassum dNor (O what ever he's called) was really really good too. Madonna excellant, Keane also excellant.

I am not a Blairite, but I actually believe, for probably the first time in my life, that he is sincere about something - wanting to cancel third world debt - and I believe that he will do his best at the G8 conference.

You have to visit a third world country and see real poverty first hand to get a better understanding of just how lucky we are living in a developed nation, and anything that we as a developed nation can do to help the less fortunate in the world is worth it, even if it means an increase in personal taxes.

Liberal faggot? Perhaps I am. But at least I have that choice. There are multi-millions who don't get that same choice and die of malnutrition, unsafe drinking water, lack of medical facilities, etc. Sure, there's a whole bunch of other things that need addressing as well, for example free trade and tackling corruption, but we have to take a first step on a long journey.

If anyone out there doesn't believe me they should get their sad, arrogant arse to Africa or Asia and get a reality check. Reality for the majority of the souls living on the planet Earth is not the same as the reality we have here.

May the 8 leaders meeting in Glen Eagles make the tough decisions that are required.
