I don't understand why the police just don't round all those people wearing hoodies over a baseball cap and wearing face masks and glasses and put them in a stockade until it's all over. Please don't tell me they are there for peaceful protest ![]() |

| If you look at the custodies today you'll find a great deal of them are English, Danish,French, German, Italian and a few Scots. Very few from Edinburgh itself. It's important that those who break the law are dealt with within the law. Again - well done to those who worked so tirelessly yesterday.

| It never ceases to amaze me how these "protesters" bleat about their treatment at the hands of the Police AFAIC it should be made a public order offence to be at that sort of event with your face covered if peaceful protesting is your aim then that shouldn't be a problem and would hopefully deter the rentamob tossersSafe diving, Steve

In reality, they're just common-or-garden tossers who, mentally, never made it out of the school playground and whose mothers didn't hug them enough. Big up the Bobbies from all over for keeping their heads when all around them were, by choice, losing/discarding theirs.

| Scottish Police and those serving in Scotland have their number on their lapels. Most of the coppers working yesterday in the capital weren't using personal protection equipment apart from a baton so their faces were easily seen. Certainly they were seen by protestors who broke one officer's shoulder and put others in hospital by throwing bricks and benches at them. I'm personally pleased that one of the individuals who has been charged under the Firearms Act (1968) Section 1 (1) is now in custody. I never though that peaceful protest required a gun.
