Zen and the Art of Motor Maintenance!!

I had a big old 560slc Merc at one stage. It went into a local garage to have a head gasket changed as the old was leaking. A couple of weeks later when they had got around to doing it (after borrowing my Haynes manual!) they called me to come and collect it.
I arrived and watched as the mechanic hopped in, started the 5.6l up with a satisfying roar and then drive it straight into their 4 post lift!
The boss, who I was standing next to, went blue with rage and headed across the workshop. I had to hide outside to stop me laughing.

I had only paid a few hundred quid for it so I asked the boss if he would like to buy it off me as the repairs would cost more then the car was worth. I tried not to smirk as he gave me more cash than I had paid and let me off the head gasket charge
