Parking Ticket

Yesterday I went to watch Burnley v Watford ( I got a free ticket). I parked the car on a single yellow line and me mate who is registered disabled passed me her blue parking badge to display. The time was set on the clock thing and off we went with me pushing her in her wheelchair.
I was gutted on returning to the car to discover I had a parking ticket!!. It said I was in contravention of of code 1. which is parking in a restricted street during prescribed hours. Can anyone clarify if this is correct? My mate doesnt have a car she uses the badge and relies on friends taking her to places.
To top it all despite living close to Burnley I dont support the bloody team !!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!! At jobs worth traffic warden .........hope your pubes grow inwards on your scrotum

It is actually still illegal to park on double yellow lines even with a disabled badge. its a disretion thing as to not issue any tickets. Thats why they have the time clocks on the badges, so that if you go over that time for coming back, it is treated as overstaying a ticket.
So, you either caught a traffic warden on a bad day, who decided to stuff the discretion to up their ticket quota, or maybe it was deemed that you were causing an obstruction as I know they are very strict on this near to football grounds due to the large traffic flow. (Although if it were the obstruction thing, you would have been towed away)
I don't know the roads so can't say anything for sure on that..

Unlucky, I think is the main thing...

the rules for using a disabled badge are quite clear, as long as the signage DOES NOT say no waiting you can use the badge to park upon a single yellow line for 3 hours. The badge has to be on the dashboard and the time dial has to display the time you parked. Your friend should have a leaflet explaining the conditions that they got with the badge.
