unless you can guarantee the seat has never been in an accident then there are extremely good reasons for not buying secondhand. A seat may have been damaged/stressed in an accident which may/can cause problems in any future accidents. In 2003 a taxi drove into the back of my car trashing it quite badly , the seat saved my daughter from injury .The seat didnt look damaged but without X-raying the seat there was no way of knowing if it was damaged and that was a chance I didn't want to take. | Just a thought Hmm, last year I remember seeing some roadshows done by the National Safety Council - mainly aimed at poorly fitted seats if anything - but maybe they might be worth approaching if you do consider the second hand route? PS - No kids, so not coming from a place of experience
