| Imported post Dan Quale aspires to be this guy... The Boss He's every employee's worst nightmare. He wasn't born mean and unscrupulous, he worked hard at it. And succeeded. As for stupidity, well, some things are inborn. His top priorities are the bottom line and looking good in front of his subordinates and superiors (not necessarily in that order). Of absolutely no concern to him is the professional or personal well-being of his employees. The Boss is technologically challenged but he stays current on all the latest business trends, even though he rarely understands them. |

| Imported post Here's a dilemma for you.... This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision, one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and consider each line - this is important for the test to work accurately. You're in Florida - in Miami, to be exact. There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a CNN photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destructive power and is ripping everything away with it. Suddenly you see a man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be carried away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer. Somehow the man looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is - it's George W. Bush! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to wash him away, forever. You have two options. You can save him or you can take the best photo of your life. So you can save the life of George W. Bush, or you can shoot a Pulitzer prize winning photo, a unique photo displaying the death of one of the world's most powerful men. And here's the question (please give an honest answer): Would you select colour film, or rather go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

| Imported post I see "we" have been criticised for this thread over on HB.net, oh dear... |

| Imported post We need a bit of balance here. Most of the Americans I've met on my travels, including divers have been extremely polite and friendly. While it's easy to lump everyone in under the same flag, remember that every race has it's t0ssers. Their government is crap, a lot of the military is gung ho but there are a lot of nice people out there. Take it easy on the generalisations eh?

| Imported post Exactly! If you don't stop, I'll start a new thread: "Bloody brits!"

| Imported post Cool, then I can join both. BTW who has been criticising this thread and why? and why didn't they say it on here. For the record I have worked in America a fair bit and have quite a few good friends there, who will be just as quick to laugh at aspects of American society as we are....expecially the current administration and certian national institutions (such as the military)

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>I've recently been reading a very insightful book called The Eagle's Shadow : Why America Fascinates and Infuriates the World, This is written by an american journalist who has spent lots of time round the world and was written over the period immediately pre and post the world trade centre attacks. I found it even handed and very insightful into attitudes and misconceptions both about us and them so to speak from both sides. If feel that many of the issues raised have since become far more important especially in the light of the 2nd gulf war, and would recommend this book as an education that many seem to need regarding USA relations and issues.
