| I recently bought a Halcyon torch, but when I ordered it I asked my dive shop if I could also have a look at the "optional" small goodman handle so I could choose which handle I would suit me, I don't wear thick gloves and only have small hands. I was told that he would have to buy it as suppliers didn't like sending bits on approval I decided not to ask him to get it as I didn't want him to be left with a handle he might not be able to sell. Why won't they do this ? I would even have paid for the postage to return it. Now I don't know if I would have been better with the slightly smaller handle. In the end they apparently didn't have any in stock. Come on suppliers / distributors what is the problem. |

| I agree that the supplier should have let you choose - especially as you agreed to pay any costs. There is not much difference betwen the cold water and warm water handles. I preferred the warm water (smaller handle) which I used before I moved to an explorer head - but there wasn't much in it. If it helps, I know someone who would like to buy a goodman handle so if you do want to change you can sell the existing one.

| much as i like yer loyalty to your lds fiona, you were spending a serious amount of money on a torch, the lds shoulda stumped up for the handle without being asked to, for your approval. In my opinion of course, and i've been known to talk bollox every now and then |

Clare yes I agree there is only I think 1.5cm difference between (10cm v 11.5cm)the two I just wanted to be able to choose. I just thought the smaller one would have been more comfortable. I don't think I really mentioned I would pay the costs as we never really got that far, maybe there will be one at the dive show I can look at. TBH having never used one anyway I don't even know how it will feel. I just think maybe the suppliers could be a little more accommodating. |

| [quote=Fiona]Sean he offered to. But as he might have been left with it I said no. Then you are far to nice or have too much money |

| Fiona, have you thought about one of the soft ones that velcro around your palm? Might be a good option for small hands. I have one and find it suits me (and helps keep the weight down for travelling). I saw Brett had some in stock the other day - so perhaps you've seen them already - but if not, certainly worth a thought.
