Hmmmm.

My parents and my wifes parents are/were the best in the world, I would give anything to have them all back for just one Christmas together as a family again.

You lot want to make the most of them while they are here.

It was a year ago today that the wifes sister died of a heart attack at only 45, and 2 years ago today that we had our beloved spaniel,a companion of 14 years put to sleep she died in my arms.

Treasure your family and pets they are the most precious things in your life, unless you are utter selfish morons.

Sorry to hear about your sad circumstances Ray.

Of course those of us who had alcoholic and abusive parents may disagree with your statement and that makes us neither selfish nor morons.

Hope you're still able to enjoy your christmas.

best wishes.

True, but I am sure not everybody is in the same circumstances and I will aim my comments at them.

My parents are great, even if my mum is a fruitloop. SWMBO dad died 6 years ago and was the best FIL anybody could want. The MIL is a pain but I still love her.

Just wish I could watch what I want not what I have dictated to me. I can't watch what i want at her house why can she watch what she wants at mine.

Cool

Time to spend time with those we care about, whether family, friends or both. A bit difficult when they are 8000 miles away! BT are going to love me...

That's why you should give them a hug and tell them you love them. Unfortunatley, my family and in laws were not too pleasant. It's not a case of being a selfish moron. It's a case of some people have to spend years looking after and pandering to parents and in laws who treat you abysmally. Being critisicised and moaned at and having an alcoholic father, who got more bearable when he got dementia, was not nice and especially stressful at Christmas when we all had to be together or be beseiged with guilt.

So if you love your family, tell them and treasure them. not everyone is that lucky. Or lucky enough even to have the memories.

I count my blessings - I love my sons and they love me. My "baby" has just phoned and asked can he spend the evening with me rather than in the pub. How great is that?

A peaceful Christmas to you all.

I am fortunate that I am still very close to my kids despite living so far away. This year we are all gathering at my eldest daughters for Christmas Day dinner and we will all stay there until Boxing Day. I tell my kids I love them every time we speak not just as Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you all
