Exactly - it takes a special kind of person to lie straight to someone's face and not flinch!

Bonus and rewards

That prize Cuprinol-tinted tw*t Peter Hain reckons that white collar recipients of big bonus sums should be required to give 2/3 to the 'needy'.

No danger of Hain struggling with a bonus angst, the knob has never done a day's real work in his life.

What many fail to recognise is that the bonuses may be related to achievement. A Japanese futures trader was reported as receiving a £30 million bonus (my figures may not be 100% accurate) but further down the page it was mentioned that he'd generated over £600 million profit for his company. When his bonus is seen as 5% of his worth to the company.....what is the normal amount for a tip?

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with these bonus amounts when seen in the context of the businesses where they are commonplace. These are not jobs where people work till they're 65 before shuffling off with a gold watch, burnout is an occupational hazard.

Anyway, there is a definite trickle-down effect, yes these guys force up the cost of housing in certain areas, but they're also the types who buy Porsches, high end electrical equipment and drop £40K on drinks during a single meal (Gordon gave them the meal for free!)

Oh yes. As promoted by Mrs Thatcher - britain's favourite war criminal - that, if I remember correctly, is where rich people piss on poor people.

Thatcher a war criminal?

I would quite like to see you justify how Thatcher is a war criminal?

Let me guess, the Belgrano.

Naturally it would be a good idea to have a major enemy capital ship staming in the vicinity of the task force with multiple 6-inch guns and a battery of Exocet missiles.....no threat at all there then.

As I recall, the Argentinians invaded the Falklands, we didn't sink their flagship on a whim.

By contrast, I can't recall any activity by Saddam Hussein immediately prior to 2003 that would justify this country launching an all-out attack.

No, just shake off ...

If it worked, we wouldn't have such a wide rich to poor gap that gets wider.
