Extremely pi$$ed off student!!

Most people have heard the various stories of people accidentally scratching cars in a multistory or something similar or have done so them selves, which if some one just scratched my car, admitidly id be angry but not as fuming as i am at the moment. Having parked my car in a car park and came back to it after a particularly hard rugby training session i was met with the shock that some idiot had reversed into my car, at quite some speed and driven off with out leaving any note at all.

The car due to the 2K value is as good as a write off due to the structure of the car itself being bent and various other bits shafted too! So now I have to ring my insurance and claim for my car which means the insurance for a 22 year old student with one written off car in his history is going to be staggering!!!

Words cannot express my anger at the moment (infact no they could but would not be safe to post on a public forum)!! I have attached a couple of pics just so u can see how hard the ba$tard hit me!! I hope princess karma strikes him down with never ending herpes or impotence.

Unhappy

Ask the car park if it has CCTV? Report it to the police, and they may help you get hold of copies of the CCTV video.

Sorry to read your car is a right off? Good luck with any CCTV. It may show the car responsible, though I don't think it will be that good a resolution to show the number plate, it may give you an idea of what type of car hit yours.

Jeez! thats a bummer.

Judging from the height of the impact, i'd say some sort of 4x4 or chelsea tractor ?

I'd go with what Dave said, report it to the police, try for the CCTV footage.

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago, except they reversed into my towball and left their bumper and light glass behind (they must have stopped to retrieve the number plate).

Sorry to hear about your car. I can't beleive there are some complete ba$stards out there who don't give a rats arse about the consequences of their (in)actions.

Someone did the same to me about 18 months ago. Perfectly parked on a street. No CCTV, not witnesses. The general thought was that (s)he had reversed out of the pub carpark and failed to look in the rear view mirror. I was lucky, there was only (!) about £1k damage. however, when the insurance renewal came up, although i didn't lose my NCB (I had protected it), my then insurance company put up the premium because i was now a higher risk. FFS!! how does that work then?

Sorry mate. That is out of order. I don't mind a little scratch but that is criminal damage. I hope the insurance company don't sting you too hard.

Have a virtual and a real one if your my way any time...

No it's fail to stop/fail to report a road traffic accident. Criminal Damage is a different offence not generally applied to one vehicle running into another unless you can prove the intent was to cause damage as opposed to numpty driving.
You can still report the matter to the Police but unless anyone saw anything i wouldn't hold your breath in bringing the arsehole to book.
Hope it all works out but it is aggravating as well as losing your car and your excess your insurance will probably go up to through no fault of your own

I'm no mechanic but it looks like the damage is in the "cosmetic" area. As in the car will still go fine etc.

You might find it cheaper to forget claiming on insurance and being buggered with obscene premiums for a few years and get down a breakers yard for a new bonet, radiator grill/guard thing and a new light

Or

Nip to a reasonable 2nd hand car dealer and trade it in. That kind of repair is cheaper for them. Obviously I don't know any more details but I would have thought as a 22 year old student you're better off leaving the claim and dealing with the practical issues another way

Or

Get a bike

Just a thought, or two
