Deepblue Tynemouth- utter bag 'o kak

So- ordered something off their website which was indicated as in stock. Called a week later and was assured it would be despatched in a couple of days. Called again today (3 weeks after ordering the thing that was in stock) to be told it would be yet another couple of weeks.

What a load of kak. And to be told "well there is nothing we can do" and not even an apology is pants customer service. They should be ashamed.

If you dont mind me asking, what was it you ordered? I use a local company to me, ROCK BOTTOM DIVERS , from their website it dosent look flash but its a family buisness and hes always at the end of the phone when u need him, mite take a few days longer, but its cheaper and dont get any BS from him either. He also sells a lot more gear than what is on the site, so if you cant see it e-mail him always worth a try?!

I only ordere a 5 pound Beaver pouch to stick my camera in. I'd get it trade from Beaver but the postage would be more than the pouch.

I think i've probably stated my opinion of deep blue before here, i live 5 minutes walk away, yet never use them, because of the utterly shite instore service. They are moving to Whitley bay soon, so i wont live 5 minutes away anymore :>

to quote myself from last year on DIRx

"DO NOT USE DEEP BLUE ON TYNEMOUTH FRONT STREET. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF UNORGANISED ASSHOLES, THE MANAGER "HOLLY (or whatever she's bloody called) HASN'T GOT A BLOODY CLUE.

(you put you name down for a trip to Gozo, you are the third name down and include your number. you go back to the shop a month later to see the shop has a brand new list, you think WTF, but readd you name, now 9th down the list, WITH your phone number. Now i went back to the wank shop today and saw a THIRD list wo my name on it. And when asked WTF was happening got told the holiday was fully booked and that the fat bitch couldn't be bothered to come off her "lunch" break to sort it out. I WILL NEVER GO IN THAT SHOP AGAIN!!!! Aquanorth has all my N.E. diving from now on. real nice chap running it and he actually cares for the sport, not just the god damned money it can generate!!! )"

"wasn't that bothered tbh. i just don't like getting messed about with by a scummy shop (they all ready forgot to tell me a st. abs trip was cancelled, when they are meant to confirm etc etc)."

They even have the cheek to to describe goods as 'in transit', implying that they have posted them, when they are/were not even in stock. And certainly not on their way to you.

Never again.

Yup, bought a Vytec DS from them last year. Hunted round to find best price and in stock. They had free del. and on the site it was 'in stock' and the price was the same as anywhere else but no-one had them 'in stock'.

After 10 days I emailed them asking where my goods were. 'Not in stock' came the reply - awaiting delivery from the suppliers

It took 4 weeks and a couple more emails for it to be delivered.

They suck.

You see, there is a God, I told you at the time the only real jusitification for underwater photography is that you get to dive with lots and lots of expensive and disaster prone equipment whilst looking really flash on the boat between dives (Sort of like being a rebreather diver, but with a more realistic chance of long-term survival), so a £5 pouch really was letting the side down!

Serves you right.

Thumbs down

I've ordered a couple of items from Deep Blue and what they did send was wrong and the other was out of stock? (website not updated).
So I happened to be down Tynemouth the next day so I went in to get the wrong item exchanged, did I get a apology?
Yeah a sort of half arsed "That'll be Little Chris's fault , his a div, I hit him if you want?"

But then again, think yourself lucky, you really could have worst off Deep Blue:-

That is pretty poor, my LDS would do an air fill in his lunch break let alone an expensive trip.
