Angry Bloody boyfriends
Just got back from Malta this morning. Fine, unpacked bags. Boyfriend found his £60.00 of tobacco is missing. Stolen, fell out, zipper caught on mechanism - I don't know. One of my bags came back with a pocket unzipped (I KNOW I closed it, as I was aware it could catch and rip) and the main zipper partially open, but nothing missing. I advised him to report it to the airline. His repsonse?

"No, I'm not interested. Forget it, I'm giving up smoking."

Gobsmacked was an understatement. Excuse me.

WHAT THE FU*K IS WRONG WITH HIM? WHY THE FU£^ING HELL WON'T HE REPORT IT? IF I'D LOST £60.00 OF GOODS ON A FU*&ING AIRLINE, I'D F&"^ING WELL REPORT IT. OF ALL THE PIGHEADED, STUPID ATTITUDES TO F*&ING WELL TAKE. MUST BE NICE TO BE IN A POSITION TO WRITE OFF £60.00 JUST LIKE THAT.

Sorry about that people, but I was so angry I grabbed handbag and fleece, walked out and came here. Flaming hell fire - on a lighter note, I enjoyed Malta and the diving. Dive safely.

Yep, he's decided to write off £60.00 just like that. Must be nice, to be so well off not to even bother putting a claim in. I'm too annoyed to discuss with him at the moment, I'm just out here to calm down for the moment. People wonder why I drink... Dive safely.

Hate to say it but unless you report it before you leave the airport you've got no chance, even then i would probably be of the opinion that it too much hassle, especially if its an amount that you should have declared coming through customs (dont know what the limits are)

on another note, am off to malta at the begining of may, so any suggestions on what dives to do, places to see?

I will discuss it with him, but when I've calmed down a bit and got my temper under control. Discussing or reacting in anger is (in my book) not the way to do it. I feel a bit better now, so I'll go and collect my furry children from the rat sitters shortly, and get some food on the go. Discussing it with you guys is easier as it's 'virtual' if you follow my meaning. I can rant and rave, then feel better. Feeling better already, actually.
