| Again I agree with most comments I have been a member for a few years and only have 150 or so posts. I post when ever I think I can add something to a discussion. I must say when I see that some people have posted 5000-10000 times in only few years I wonder when they get the time.... do they not have jobs? If they do are their employers aware of how much time they spend on the web?! Tom |

| As others I tend to lurk around this forum to see whats going on in the diving world. I would like to try diving, but talking to a local dive officer (who is also a member on here) says that due to illness it would not be safe to try diving. |

| Seriously, I'm an addicted lurker. I log on several times a day (at work), read nearly all the threads & on rare occaisions have been known to say the odd word or two. I'm on my jollies tomorrow (a non diving trip to Egypt |

| OK, and now my turn. As has been said by nearly everyone else..... I have posted a few times, even started a few new threads, but don't join in just to post, if I don't have anything to add to a thread, I tend not to post. All of that said, I still very much enjoy YD and would miss it if I couldn't read it, almost daily. I am not particularly short of confidence, or diving experience, but don't necessarily do the same diving as the general massive, so don't always feel part of the group, but that doesn't make me feel too much of an outsider. BTW Mal, A good idea for a thread, it shows just how many people are here, in the background, which can only be good for us all to appreciate. Andy

some good advice- go and see a medical referee as they are the only ones who can decide properly if you are safe/fit to dive. You may be pleasantly surprised. Sorry Mal but it had to be done. right business as normal now folks.

| Hi Sorry to be a sheep, but I'm with everyone else. I trawl through the threads every day, but rarely log on. I find it amusing, interesting, informative etc. I have actually met a few people from here, once at a dive at Vobster and once at Swanage. Oh yes and I met a few at a BBQ Digger held when he lived in Reading. Now THAT was interesting?!!? I am a new diver and I do enjoy reading, but sometimes feel a little overwhelmed because everyone here seems to know each other so well and have built up good friendships, that much is clear because of the banter!!! So you do feel a little bit of an outsider. But if I'm honest, I'm personally happy with that because do have a huge giggle at some of your comments, especially as I've yet to read a 'nice' comment about Digger! And he just seems to love it!!!

| There is definitely a trend here, I read puddledrivers reply and thought that sums me up too. It's also alot easier to to open YD and have a quick browse through the forums, than it is to post a reply when I am at work. |

| I only log in to renew my position as tetris champ Seriously though, my reasons for not posting as frequently are largely the same as others on the thread. There is a hardcore of posters who seem to know each other well but I don't think of the boards as 'cliquey', quite the opposite in fact. I enjoy reading a lot of the banter in the posts even though I don't really have anything to contribute. I have used the boards to raise a few questions on kit etc and found everyone to be incredibly helpful. I do try and contribute something where I can (photographs, for example), but as a relative newbie to the sport there are many others on the site who are much better placed to comment on a lot of the threads. |
