Angry Postage Stamps

Ok most people may be thinking now how can you get pee'd off with these small little paper rectangles with the queens head on it.
Think of all the places you can buy stamps these days
Hotels
Petrol Stations
Newsagents
Woolworths
Grocery shops
Supermarkets
I am sure the list could go on. Today I went into the village sub post office which also has a small shop area which sells booze, ciggies, cards, papers, meat pies, tampax. As the Post Office area was closed I asked for a book of 12 1st class stamps only to be told, "Sorry I am not allowed to sell them to you from this counter you will have to come back when the Post Office is opened" Can anyone please give me a logical reason why I wasnt allowed to buy them from there?
And people wonder why village Post Offices are closing.

Even if you could have bought them would you have had any idea what stamps were needed on letters these days

Seems to me the Post Office is on a suicidal rush to put itself out of business...

I think you will find that all post offices or company post rooms will have a cardboard template that you can size your letter, packet and so on. Stick to small letter size approx C5 and the cost is a standard first class stamp, around 34p larger and you pay more 48p. It isn't rocket science

Aye, both top management and the rest of the staff seem to be colluding to put themselves out of work

Because Lucinda has the family allowance paid direct into the internet bank account since its damn near impossible to park the Discovery outside the damn post office due the damn foreigners in their silly little cars...

Jumped up traffic warden types. Don't they know there are no disabled people here? What nonsense, I have so much trouble with little Tarquin and his tantrums. You cannot really expect me to walk from THERE.....

Besides which the corner shop hasn't any wasabi.... plebs...

God alone knows why Julian wanted to move out here in wretched bottom hole of nowhere, its 40 miles to the day boarder school and my friends are still in Kensington. Not a Waitrose for miles and the damn socialists putting up the cost of petrol again, thank goodness we can fill the A8 with diesel when we go down to the cottage in Trouville-sur-mer. If it wasn't for the horses (oh and Jorge the gardener ) I'd move back tomorrow....

Ahh. I think youll find that it is Rocket science to most of us( Blokes) that don't have a clue what size a letter is. C5 A4 A2 A3.? I just stick a 1st class stamp on everything and shove it in the big red box outside my village post office and let the professionals sort it out. Not had anything back yet! Probably not had anything delivered either Oh well the Post office is self destructing anyway so I'll be buying a few pigeons for the future.

That might be the case in the Cotswolds, it doesn't happen like that in the depths of rural North Yorkshire where my parents live.
