Talking Identity theft scam -a warning

Just imagine, you are a highly respected member of the scientific community. You turn up at a respected holiday centre only to find that someone has claimed your name, and taken the accommodation that you have booked and paid for.
Then you find out the this person is member of YD.
Then you realise that same person is actually a serving officer-"boys in blue" and all that.

No one is safe these days. Shred everything, especially email printouts.

I think before this thread gets completely out of hand i need to lay my cards on the table.

I booked onto the weekend with Ian and agreed to share accommodation with him [if i recall at the time no-one else was willing to share]

whilst on holiday i was text and asked if i would be willing to share a caravan with Danny and Sally [Dr Walsh] and Pete [Sally's son].

Sally provided me with details of the accommodation and arrival time [booking reference included] and I was told that the Northerners wern't going to be able to get there until well after 9pm [accommodation booked from the afternoon].

As many will be aware Weymouth and in particular this Holiday park are very popular, on my arrival there were lines of people waiting to check in. This concerned me greatly, those of you who have ever flown shedule airline will be aware that if you don't make check-in the airline may re-sell your seat to someone else and bump you. Concerned that this may happen and they would all end up sleeping in their cars I saved the day!

in a moment of inspired thinking i stepped up to the check-in desk presented a copy of the e.mail and obtained the Caravan keys and entry passes - whilst i accept i didn't deny i was sally when the check in person said "here is your entry pack Dr Walsh" I at no time said i was Dr Walsh and should add that i didnt receive anything to which i was not entitled [somewhere to sleep] i then made up the beds for the rest of the group and awaited their arrival

i hope that clears up this scare mongering and i will hear no more of it.

Let me get this right, you're saying that at no time did you deny your name was Sally?
