Angry Bring back Tufty!

What the hell are they teaching kids these days about road safety?? Twice on the way to work this morning kids walked infront of my car without looking. They just stepped out infront of the car and just seemed to assume I was going to stop. Didnt even look to see if there was a car coming.

What happened to Stop, look, listen and all that stuff? Is it now, walk across road, assume car will stop and dont give a f**k.

How about teaching adults too? Things like "don't just step out and walk slowly accross the road texting as you go".

I still have my Tufty Club badge and my Tufty Club road safety book. Bring back Tufty - I'm sick of children stepping out in front of me too!

Edit: Agree with you too Vonny. What annoys me most are the children and young adults who see you but blatantly step out in front of you expecting you to stop.

I blame the parents.

Yesterday I was stopped in traffic outside a local school when a mother literally dragged her children between me and the car in front and then stood on the white line with them waiting for a break in oncoming traffic! She completely ignored the school crossing guard not 20 metres away

It is not just kids.

When I cycle into York on accasions to go to work, I am flabergasted at the number of adults who just walk out infront of me without looking. (I ran into one old guy 60+) The pedestrians are awful but the other cyclists are worst. Just cycle through red lights most of the time. I am not surprised they get run over.

And beware of london, the cyclists there just just run down oxford street as if they are in a race, without any care of anyone else. You always have to look right and left even when the pedestrian crossings give you a green light.

The whole country has gone mad.

I have punched a cyclist who nearly took me and sprog 1 out on a pedestrian crossing when it was green in my favour. I don't think he will do it again.

yes there is a problem with a lot of parents being too lazy to walk to the safe crossing point.

You know what peeves me the most about cyclists, the fact that the ones who most wantonly ignore red lights and all the other street furniture, are all members of racing clubs.

I know, I used to race myself, but they whinge about cars when they are the WORST offenders.
