Excellent post. Too often people report negatively on the Police and sometimes forget about the good stuff. Brilliant when it all goes to plan.

I think all the talk of the CPS and PC is premature. In this case I am sure the offenders will be prosecuted. More likely that you might not agree with the leniency of the judgment but I guess all this remains to be seen.

Well, before I go any further on this, I AM on your side however I have 3 words for you:

Saudi Arms Deal

I don't follow the 'pc brigade' bollocks btw - the CPS makes judgements on whether a case stands a chance of succeeding in the courts - the public interest comes in in relation to the money possibly wasted on taking a case to court that might not go anywhere.

Yes. Incoherent bollocks, but it's not a new thing. At least you're consistent in that respect.

It's just too easy to make BS statements and claim to know "facts" that you're not allowed to talk about.

I've invented time travel, but it's secret - see how easy it is?

This was a nice post to hear. I've not had many personal dealings with the police (thank goodness) but the one main time I had to call them the two lads (does that mean I'm old?? ) who came to my rescue were excellent. They called an ambulance, although I didn't want one - but I had a head trauma - and they spent 3 hours taking a statement and supporting me.

Unfortunately the CPS decided there wasn't a case and it was dropped, and I'm sure they have their reasons.

I think we're wrong (generally) to blame the police or other people in authority. There are limited resources and funding and, IMHO, the do the best they can with what they've got. It's the same with all the services. All the people who work for them, the police, the coastguard, the fire service, the hospitals, all they want is to help people and I reckon they get as frustrated as we do with the restrictions holding them back. (Again, this is ONLY my opinion. I'm not saying I'm right at all!)

I'm sure there are bad eggs who are a problem, but isn't there people like that in all working environments???
