| Came home today at 1pm and just as I sat down in my office my next door neighbour's alarm went off. The phone rang within 30 secs from her alarm company to say they had an intruder alert next door and would I meet the police who were on their way (I'm a key holder). I went across, took a quick look around and couldn't see anything. Police dog handler arrives within 4 minutes. We again skirt round and as we are coming back, my window cleaner comes rushing over to say 2 lads have jumped over the fence and are having it away across the field. The policeman gets on the radio and within 5 minutes, there are 6 patrol cars in the area AND the West Yorkshire helicopter circling overhead. Within 10 minutes the scrotes have been apprehended and are in custody - the helicopter has practically their entire movements on tape. 30 mins later, SOCO arrive and gather a load of fingerprint / fibre evidence from the entry point and ransacked drawers. Three hours later the police are back with a WPC to counsel my distraught neighbour as well as calling round to see me again to see if I could make an identity parade they were setting up. So, for one breaking and entry we had: 1 dog handler 6 patrol cars 1 helicoper Soco ID parade WPC counselling Appointed locksmith Who says the police do nothing? A top result and a total credit to the force.

It's a shame that the lady's house that was broken into may need help from people like Jay and the police to feel safe in her own house again Graham
