Also: looking at road signs telling you to drive carefully because there are x number of accidents in this spot, reading signs in Welsh and English, which takes your eyes off the road for ages.......

I've been driving for over 30 years, it's amazing I'm still alive.

And... rant, rant.... I was driving to Bristol last week, doing 75 on the motorway, and was overtaken by 2 police cars doing at least 100mph, without flashing lights on AND a speed detector van. Grrrrrrr.

I believe that most of these can land you in trouble with the old bill. They either fall under dangerous driving or driving without due care and attention, I'm sure one of YD's many coppers could say for certain.

but surely if its okay to root around in your bag to find your fags, then get a lighter and then light it - basically driving while concentrating on something else - then its okay to use a phone, eat, watch a portable tele etc.

Only the other day on the news , stated that the government was to introduce a CAR PARKING TAX on employers who have 10 or more parking spaces for staff on thier premises. This would ost roughly £ 300 per space / year , which would then be passed onto the employee.......
