And there's nothing like driving on a dark stretch of motorway in the dead of night, flicking a smouldering fag end out of the window and watching the red glow as it bounces on the tarmac behind you! (and nothing worse than a stinking car anyway )

I have to say I have never understood why smokers that drive are too lazy to use the ashtray in the car - that's what it's there for!!!!

I had an accident when I was younger as a direct result of a driver flicking a dogend out of hs window. I was behind him and he flicked the dogend out which landed inside my jacket (one in a million shot I know) I lost control of the bike through shock and clipped a bollard with my arm. Bike was a write off, car driver was oblivious and I never got his reg

The ashtray is on the wrong side for a start, but flicking dogends out and getting caught does result in a £50 fine in these parts. At least I haven't got that worry anymore and my car smells nice now (well, it will do when I get my sense of smell back!) and just out of curiousity, how far were you from the car in front?

Its better to flick your fag out at dark just as you pass said cyclist.

Make sure you have just taken a big draw on it before you flick it. So you have big glowing red end( oooer!!!)
That way when it hits the old ashphalt in front of the cyclist its like a flare going off in front of them.

I don't smoke but i always carry 20 Malborough in the car for this sort of sport.

And that just catches the braver sporty looking ones that decide to weave in and out of traffic. Unless you are in a left-hand drive!
