Paypal Rant..

Being a complete technophobe my paypal account is not used that often, so I just use it to pay via my credit-card. Now I need to put some money into my paypal account using my bank account. So far, so good.

In their distructions list, they point out that if you don't put your name exactly as it is written on your 'statement' I couldn't work out if they meant the account name on the bank statement or the name & address name on the statement.... And do I include Mrs as my a/c is in the name of Mrs Dianne etc etc. Failure to get it right means a £14 fine. Tah very much Paypal.

So have dispatched them a question by e-mail - two bloody days ago - and no response yet! Meanwhile the seller is patiently waiting for me to get my act together...

you arnt the only one hon,my other half has been naggin me to do on-line bankin ,

but i find it so much easier to go to my local bank, they know me by name ,i know them ,

straight forward if i could find the time,thats what gets him down,

but im completly useless with comps

Have you tried adding a debit card to the paypal account there should be an option to add further cards to it.

You'll probably just get a cut-and-paste answer as well. If you're going as far as PayPal then there are other options such as NOCHEX, or even finding out if your payee will accept a BACS transfer.

It's the name of the account, the same name that is on your debit card and, if you still have one, your cheque book.

All of the above is correct, I buy and sell all the time on Ebay and have a credit card and my bank details listed with them.
They want the correct name as stated on the credit card so you then become what is identified as a "Verified" account. Basically means that you are not trying to pull a fast one.

If you're in doubt, why not ask the seller if they'll accept a cheque (as Colin said, if you have a cheque book), or perhaps they'll accept cash sent by recorded special delivery.

There's always ways of working it out...........Good luck.

Mmmmmmm all good suggestions - I'll check the name that is on my debit card - but still waiting for an 'official' response.

the credit card I has listed with Paypal had lapsed and I wanted to pay for something from Ebay, It took 9 days to transfer the funds from my bank account to my Paypall account
