Well no other fecker was posting anything but which dive shop, which fins etc!

The two are inextricably linked, after all the same EU governance is what will drive more erroneous decisions to fight wars that are bugger all to do with us, one Europe and all that!!

The odd segue is forgivable, you did read it after all!

Er, hang on a moment. I've stayed out of this standard Europhobic diatribe but must now point out that that last statement is, in intent at least, utter bollocks. How keen was Europe to go to war? Just how much "diplomacy" did our Tone do to try to get more European members for the coallition of the willing? How many did he get?

As for Strasbourg, personally I'm grateful that there's a court that can over-rule the most extreme of our government's repressive legislation.

The trouble with Europhobes in general is that they miss the bigger picture. The sovereignty issue is an easy tabloid-style emotive crock. What we should be concentrating on is the abuse of power and corruption that the unelected European Commission ignores. It even punishes those who try to call it to account.

There are many things wrong with the EU. However, since its inception there hasn't been a major war in Europe. This is, IIRC, the longest period in history which can make such a claim.

Oh, sod it. I know that I'll be shouted down by all the knowledgeable politicos who still believe that we're a big enough country to exist in a cosy transatlantic bubble thanks to our special relationship with the States.
