Over here, it's "Mum" "Bub" and "Doctor". As in Doctor's on his her/rounds. Saves a lot of aggro for the staff having to learn hundreds of new names every week; it's not really the biggest problem you encounter in the birthing/child rearing process.

Pretty much what most parents think immediately after the birth anyhow. I missed that bit of brain warping and nearly didn't survive when I asked if we should get him any job interviews whilst he was still in the HDU. Neo-natal nurses just don't seem to have a sense of humour... PS before the flaming starts, I do know exactly what a fantastic job these people do with very little babies - I saw what they did for my 2.
