Didn't dare tempt fate a third time though.

dirty nappies are a doddle, although it took a while to get my appetite for mustard and Guacamole back

changing them is easy and with girls its far easier as they are less wrinkled in the nappy dept. can change the new one in less than 2 minutes and working on the one handed change now. udsed to be able to hold the 1st one on left arm remove lower garments and nappy clean refix new nappy and dress .

Is that so you can hold your nose with the other hand? Don't change hands and just assume your hand is clean!

I hate this as well. I also hate it when the person who's given birth to the thing is referred to as 'mother',
Methinks the lady protests too much...either that or she's a bloke with tits and no knob... probably a PC name for them somewhere.
Anyway, place your bets... I'll go for August 2010 for the first YD-baby.

Nappies are no big deal. You just get on with it. If it gets that bad, hey, you're a diver, you should be well practiced at breathing in through the mouth and out through the nose.

'Mother might need a size or two bigger maternity pants since she's been using her pregnancy as an excuse to stuff her face.'

Over here, it's "Mum" "Bub" and "Doctor". As in Doctor's on his her/rounds. Saves a lot of aggro for the staff having to learn hundreds of new names every week; it's not really the biggest problem you encounter in the birthing/child rearing process.

It's converting the noun 'baby' into a proper noun Baby which elevates the status of that particular one and suggests that Baby is the most beautiful/inteligent/significant one ever and no other mere baby counts for squat.

Pretty much what most parents think immediately after the birth anyhow. I missed that bit of brain warping and nearly didn't survive when I asked if we should get him any job interviews whilst he was still in the HDU. Neo-natal nurses just don't seem to have a sense of humour...

PS before the flaming starts, I do know exactly what a fantastic job these people do with very little babies - I saw what they did for my 2.
