I have already asked you privately about what qualifies you to continue this thread. You have been noticeable by your silence on this.

Northern Rock is in no way similar to either BCCI or Barings.

Both BCCI and Barings are merchant banks - Northern Rock is not.

You have a fundamental lack of understanding in how banking works - this is abundantly apparent in your previous posts as well as in your continuation to post about things that have absolutely no bearing on the case in question.

In fact, rather than repeating myself to ad infinitum, I'll repost what I sent you by PM:

I'm sorry but this post / PM continues to show a fundamental lack of understanding in how banks raise capital. Due to heavy overexposure in the US, many UK banks withdrew ALL credit facilities to each other, not just Northern Rock.

In addition, the fact that NR is based in the North East has little to do with anything. Whether based in the North East, South West or London, the collapse of ANY financial institution could have driven the country into a recession and rocked financial confidence even further than the run on NR did. This would have resulted in savings NOT being placed with a number of institutions which would have driven inflation way about current levels . As the BoE is tasked with managing inflation, they did absolutely the right thing in arranging a short term credit facility to NR.

Can I ask how you are qualified to keep making these comments? I am fully FPC trained, hold CeMap (certificate of mortgage advice), advanced CeMap, CerGI (certificate of general insurance advice) and am currently working my way to chartered status with nearly 15 years financial management / advice experience under by belt.

You obviously have some axe to grind with Northern Rock and no amount of truth is going to deflect you from posting it so lets see if this works:

Until you can prove your qualification to discuss this matter further, any and all future posts will be removed as they are frankly a waste of database space and bandwidth.
