DIR divers:-

Two, if they are dumb DIR divers. One to hold the cylinder steady to stop it rolling around and one to do the DIN removal/fitting.

One clever DIR diver will just sit on the cylinder and remove/replace the DIN insert all on his own however he will still take twice as long as the dumb DIR divers because he will spend 5 minutes "tut tutting" over the knackered state of the bottom of his cylinders.

In both instances several minutes will be taken just practicing O ring emergency scenarios before the job is considered done.

Non DIR:-

8 divers will be involved. One will be hopping around cursing after he left the unattended cylinder standing up and it fell over onto his foot. The other 7 will be sat around pissing themselves laughing and not lifting a finger to help.

... and non DIR. Hence the reference to us non DIR lot leaving our cylinders standing up because they have boots and will and ignoring all the info in training manuals about not leaving them standing up and ............

It would need two BSAC divers ............. only the diver who owns the cylinder to begin with but then one of his/her mates would be needed to cut off his/her bit of beard that is caught in the threads.

Sexy girl diver - the nearest 8 or 9 or 10 blokes.

Lesbian diver - herself and one Dutch boy. If good looking then there may also be a goodly number of blokes hoping to convert her to DIR whilst cracking jokes about inserts.

Tattooed diver - one other to hold the Allen key still whilst he spins the cylinder around.

PADI diver - just one person required provided he is a minimum DM otherwise he won't have enough experience to know what a DIN insert is, let alone how to change one.

Rebreather diver - given the cost of his kit he'll just buy another cylinder or, more likely, won't worry about the DIN insert problem as he'll be too busy smashing handsets on the deck trying to get the read-outs to match and wondering how it will try to kill him on this dive whilst whispering "my precious, promises to do what the precious wants, we do".

American diver - just one dive boat lackey required.

Me - screwdriver and hammer.

Do you have to use an allen key?

Why not a magnetic screwdriver with a hex bit
