The sh1t that is BBC's early morning viewing these days had a "guide to the sales" this morning, sometime between 0600 and 0700. A vacuous blonde had five tips, one of which was to not worry about using your elbows to get what you want.

If you look at most of the people who are at the top of britain's industry, they only got where they did by trampling on everyone else, sadly. Our materialistic society puts rich as famous - just look at Dragon's Den. I mean, there's probably only a couple of the guys on there who are genuinely good blokes. A couple of them are just downright tossers.

Arrogance begats Money. Money begats Greed. Greed begats Arrogance. etc..

Slightly off topic I know but the Boxing Day sales (crowds, bargains, peoople moaning the lifts were too full) was literally the only "news" item on one of our local commercial stations yesterday, that and the cricket, which I knew about anyway as I'd been watching it all afternoon; I couldn't believe it.

Changed Channel to SBS (sort of cross between "ethnic" TV and Channel 4) to find that besides the sales, 1000s were dead in mudslides in Java, various things were happening in Afghanistan, Sudan, France, USA etc etc. And no mention of the Sales.

Don't think so as I am third party insured - but I will check. Thanks

I am almost to the point where I won't listen to the news or radio, because I'm so sick of the media's way of brainwashing us incessantly with their point of view, turning us into a 'sick' society.

Channel 4's TV news is pretty good. Radio 4 is OK too, but for a decent world view the BBC's World Service is hard to beat.

I do tend to have Radio 4 on in the car when I can, tbh. I have the world service on at home on DAB

Speaking of serious news....Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated.

Sad day. It was always on the cards but I dread to think what the consequences are going to be.
