They have not bothered to break into the car - just damaged it because they could

It will probably cost more to replace the glass than the car is worth

Get online car spares, buy a side window/quarterlight? wait for it to be delivered , get someone who has workshop full of spanners, tools ,lathes ,drills etc and lives fairly close to fit it for you.

Its the passenger side rear window - the one that winds down

I've gone to work in the hope that it will be sorted when I get home - not convinced this plan will work though so you may be getting a call

About 12 years ago I was living in Orpington and some scrote pushed a screwdriver through the rear door and opened the car. They smashed the ignition lock, took it for a ride, did some damage and nicked a load of clothes I had in it - including my favourite coat. The little s*ds even brought the car back again!

If it isn't fixed by 01/01/08 and you have a new window, I'll bring some tools (and a big hammer) to Wraysbury and we can have a bash at fixing it

You just want to string up the little scrotes who did it just 'For a laugh'. Hope you get it fixed - it's just the faff of having enough to deal with without something like that. Muchos sympathy.

Problem nowadays is that no-one has respect for anyone else's stuff, and respect isn't taught either.

I went round to one of my relatives houses over christmas and he lives on a council estate. Even just driving in there were loads of chav children and families stood outside their houses like something off Shameless.

Won't your insurance company do it? I know when glass is broken in my car, there's a £50 excess to pay, but the rest is paid for by the insurance company. Might be worth checking with your insurers as you may be covered?

Nah, just:

1) buy a Haynes guyide for your car

2) Go to the wreckers and get a new window.

3) Refer Haynes manual, rremove lining from door, remove old window, fit new window, it's easy. (I'm assuming it's not electric). That's the beauty of old cars, parts like that are dirt cheap.
