Question Sport Diver Magazine

Is this magazine caught in a time warp? As I've bought this months because of the UK in focus article was about the northeast coast, but I found myself being teleported back in time due to their published photograph of Newcastle's Quayside (Example):-

How Newcastle's Quayside looks today:-

ie. Sport Diver there's a great big shiny silver building called the Sage which has been there for the past fours years missing from your photograph
Mind the front covers on Sport Diver usually look as if their stuck back in the 1980's when I think about it,

Though it was nice to see Yorkshire Divers got a mention "Despite the name, this forum includes a great deal of useful information about all aspects of diving, including technical diving."

Cool

Have those photo's been Photoshop'd Cos I thought it was always dark and raining and really horribly cold up there. At least every time I've been there it was.

Although the girls always turn out in next to nothing regardless of the weather bless em.

What's the difference? Oh I see, the Sun's actually shining - another manifestation of global warming.

The small grey ship behind the Princess is the minesweeper HMS Orwell. The entire class was removed from service in 1993 so that really does date the picture.

It only goes to show it's a shite mag LOL

Stesh, I contacted Sport diver magazine and had an interesting chat with the pictures editor. It seems they had software problems and a number of photographs were incorrect. He was very apologetic and asked me to post the correct ones here.

Firstly the Newcastle one.

As you know, all life North of the Cotswolds is in black and white so the colours are now correct and as further evidence of the pictures accuracy, Bouyant Babes knickers can clearly be seen drying above the street.

The article about diving in South devon was also incorrectly illustrated. Here is the proper photograph.

Clearly this was taken during one of our winter storms as there are some clouds in the sky and the sea is somewhat rougher than usual.

Where have all the ugly inbred Devonians gone then? They must have taken that one on half day closing or something.
