Sadly this is wrong. I've been selling on Ebay for over 5 years and have 1 negative feedback from a buyer who I'd had a problem with in the past. He agreed to buy a CD from me via buy it now and I sent him an invoice clearly stating my terms of payment, which he ignored. I sent 3 reminders, he ignored these. I filed the dispute, no answer from him and had a reminder sent to him, no reply. Finally after some 16 days or so I re-listed the item and left him negative feedback.

The pratt immediately paid me for the item, which I also immediately refunded him, as I had relisted it due to his lack of response etc. He then left me neg feedback, saying I was a bad ebayer and all that b*ll*cks.

The sad thing was after I did this to him he had the same problem with many other sellers, who also left him neg feedback, then he would file a complaint and ask for it to be mutually withdrawn!

I think I counted some 14 negative feedbacks within about 2 months for this muppet and he was still allowed to be registered.

Thankfully I think he was eventually banned. So I guess there is some justice in the world afterall.

Correct ebay are a bunch of useless money grabbing bas43rds who do nothing

Dont get me wrong, I have delt with a lot of good people, but the bad ones are always really bad and leave a very big impression.

I won an auction for a car once, Not very expensive, I asked him flatly.."Has it ever been involved in a accident?".. He said no, knew the car all its life, it was a mates.

I sent him a £100 deposit, just did a HPI out of curiosity and found out it was cat d!!

Bloke refused to give me my deposit back, said it was my fault I should have checked it out before bidding, even though he said it didnt have problems.

Ebay did nothing, I lost £100!

Safe Harbour, my ass!!

as far as I'm concerned, once I've paid, I've kept my side of the deal and feedback should be left

I've left positive feedback for a few people immediately after they have paid for an item and then sent it by special delivery or courier and then not reveived any feedback at all from them so i tend to wait a few days after posting to see if they either leave feedback which confirms receipt of the goods or they message me asking where the goods are. all my items are sent tracked so I have evidence of receipt at their end.
Apart from the fees i'm quite happy with ebay.

I'm guessing you didn't see the unpaid item dispute through to its conclusion

Their policy is outlined here

There's also the possibility of mutually agreeing to withdraw feedback.

touchwood I haven't had a problem but I have only been a buyer up to now.

If it is a bidding war to get the item I will pay as soon as the auction ends, if there hasn't been much activity on it and I get a notification of winning I will log in and pay, never more than 24hrs after it ends.

one guy went on holiday and posted the item when he got back , when I was on holiday, he didn't let me know he was on holiday so I got back and found a delivery ticket from parcelforce, they had sent the parcel back to the sender and he resent it at no extra cost. that warranted a neutral feedback as he didn't say he was going away.

Actually I did leave the dispute to run its course and ended it saying that the buyer refused to pay for the item (one of only a few options you are given at the time). This process is really a waste of time as it leaves the buyer still free to fcuk up as many sales as they want.

I researched the buyer and he's still about apparently, although he seems not to have bought anything for some time. Our little fall out was in November 2005 and he managed to get the tidy sum of another 35 negative feedbacks up to last year, not bad eh!! Quite a lot were mutually withdrawn, but the arse still got to the neg feedback stage before this.

So why does Ebay still let these morons continue?
