I have been ripped off by a yder, i brought a set of regs that were in very good condition (his description not mine) good condition my arse both hoses had splits in them and some of the ports instead of having the proper plugs in had bolts in!

i must admit seeing this story come out as it has gary must be well pissed off with

someone ! and like has been said in this thread there will always be an element

of y-d that wont tow the line so to speak !

i suppose that by naming a shaming the people who are giving you financial grief

gary will give future dive trip organisers the oppertunity to tell them to go f*ck off

The "backstory" was in the trip-thread of the time I think you'll find.
Substantiation: some of that was in the thread, too, the rest, as you can imagine, was a list of unreplied to PMs/Emails as Gary is experiencing now.
Thankfully the Blacklist was "little", it was posted on the "Charterboats/Skippers" section and, as you rightly say, it went off at a tangent somewhat... as is often the case with internet fora ( IIRC half the posts on this thread are unrelated to Gary's predicament)

it is like that in the retail diving trade.the bad payers or non payers when we talk to other distributors we always tell each other the bad payers so it gets passed around the trade so nobody will deal with them.so name and shame them so nobody else gets ripped off.

There have been several stories of people ripping others off through YD. I have to say, there are people i would trust, and people I feel I 'know' enough to send them mony/kit etc.

There is an element of he/she has been on YD for ages, people seem to know him/her which may be good or not.

I would say, though, that unless we know who the repeated ripper offers are, we are all in a vulnerable position, particularly those who organise trips.
