Why do people avoid contact when owing money?

It really really pisses me off

I pay my dues, on time

Why do some people try and wiggle out of paying whats owed

Three YD'rs are currently on my list

Anyone else been stiffed by YD "friends"?

Mmmm not a good situation ..... I have been very trusting of YDers & other fora members and not yet been let down.

Everyone can make a mistake but deliberate avoidance of paying really should result in a name & shame .... in my view.

I've contacted Jay so we'll see

One owes me money for a trip, no contact despite several PM's and on the thread

One owes me money for items, no contact despite several PM's and on the thread

One looks like fraud/theft

Ditto. In fact, I have noticed quite the opposite and have received items gratis with a request to stick a few squid in the Lifeboat box.

This is a difficult topic and I, am certain, one that any web site owner would not want to get involved with if it could be avoided.

I would have thought that if sufficient opportunity had been given to the one with short arms by sending reminding PM's and emails that naming such a person on the boards wouldn't be too harsh and permissable in the eyes of the forum owner(s).

Yup. First time in running trips for about 8 years and I got stiffed last year. And he's on your September trip with me.

I think we have enough folk on here that it is inevitable some are not quite as you would like them to be. I would not trust anyone "just because they are on YD" Although I would probably be fairly trusting towards people that I interact with regularly and feel I "know" through the site.

He must either have a 'lot of front' or thinks he had justification.

Oh well, if you are a really nice person then you won't break his nose until after the end of the Sept trip so he will at least get his diving in first.
