Was he complaining that the plane had artificially inseminated them (in which case you were flying WAY too low) - can't have been you as you are airmen not seamen.

Let me guess - it was a herd of prize cows?

I was just a bit taken back by the suggestion! Apparently if cows are inseminated they can't take too much strain/shock within 48 hours - that was the story anyway. The claim never came to anything as we weren't within 500m of his farm, maybe he didn't realise we have differential GPS.

Complaining is cultural. We did a survey in the UK that lasted 6 months over two years and had multiple complaints a day. We've also done a similar sized survey in Kosovo at a lot lower altitude and didn't receive a single one! Maybe the blame culture hasn't caught on in Kosovo, or maybe they've got used to Black Hawks and Apaches and thought our lovely Twin Otter was nice and quiet!

aye i ring the bells in our church - ring of 6 of them, the heaviest being 1.8 tons. Everyone in the village loves the sound of them, and on warm evenings, people actually come and sit in the church yard with some beers and listen to us practising.

we had a new family move into the village from london (central near to chelsea), and they started a campaign to stop the bells as it was destroying their lives they claimed through lack of sleep when the clock chimed (that uses the middle bell to make the gong), and when we ring the bells on a wednesday evening for 2 hours and on sunday morning for 30 mins - and the odd funeral and wedding.

Needless to say there was some amount of unrest in the village and then all has been quiet ever since and no it wasnt me!

But we have rung a couple of peels (5024 changes) over about 3 hours! that was good fun to see them staring red faced at us when we found out they hated the bells

People like that need to go live somewhere like Kosovo for a couple months. They might then have a better idea of what detroying their lives really means.

This country is far too comfortable. People have nothing better to occupy their attention than thinking up the next thing to be outraged by. It is costing us all a bloody fortune too.

Aircraft and helicopter noise

If that guy thinks the odd helicopter is intrusive he should try having a Harrier jump jet lose control and crash just missing your house, now that made for a very bad day, was extremely noisy!!!! (they dont half go bang when they hit the ground and explode)
I guess that makes me a

WIMBY.

Did you ell them that the crash had iven you a morbid fear of planes and that the only possible cure was a free ride in a Harrier (but with a different pilot)?

Thumbs up Training has to be done....

Where I live we get a treat from the Red Arrows on a regular basis,,
It's really cool on a bright afternoon watching them train for the display,s they do.....
They certainly don't leave much room for error.....

Sod that. There's never been a succesful 2 seat ejection from a Harrier! On my last day in the Navy, one decided to crash right next to the flightline i used to run. Bloody decent of them to give me something to remember my last day in the mob

ps, pilot ejected and got out ok........

So did the pilot who lost control (of one of the most manouverable planes flying) while flying a simple downwind leg of a bump 'n go exercise at a civilian airport!!!!! He had 250hrs experience in a harrier..........makes one wonder what the f**k they did in training for type of aircraft?????????

It would be fun to fly in one but the RAF were absolute arseholes post crash (evicted in the clothes I stood in and threatened with arrest if I did not leave- 3hrs after the crash!!) had to leave 2 horses unattended and was not allowed to collect medication that I have to take daily!

Compensation.......my arse!!!!
