Even that is new in France - you own the rights to your own image.

In the UK, IIRC, if a photo is taken of people in a public place then there is no privacy. This is why some guy was able to get away with up-skirt type shorts taken in his car on the public highway. However public nuisance offences could have been applied.

I don't condone the actions of the man taking pictures of the scene with his phone but i have to defend photography. What many are advocating here is tantamount to censorship and a further erosion of civil liberties. Photographers are already viewed as potential terrorists by many security guards and police around city centres. Photography has an important role to play in recording events for posterity as well as informing us about the present.

I thought that were were not supposed to let fundamentalism bring us down. That we should not change the way we live....
