Come back and find your car is gone because you left it unattended with the keys in and engine running.

Phone police and insurance company to report theft.

These country yokels just don't appreciate that in the big smoke if it isn't nailed down then you can expect to lose it.

Bikerbills idea works though how he manages that from the 15th dancer I'll never know.

That's one of the reasons why i moved out of London. I like being a bumpkin, no need to rush about to get things done.  I always leave my vehicle running to warm it up on a frosty morning.  No point in phoning the Police if it went missing.  They're only interested in cars if it's speeding.  Anyway i think we've only got 2 coppers in Devon.
Insurance........What's that

Yup, got the "you've been flashed" letter last week.  Doh!

I'm with Lou (although I have a garage) - cold water is pointless.  I use warm water - melts and keeps it melted until the wipers work!

Dom, you're a genius.  How did you come up with this thread?

It's the only crime solving they can do without getting off their arses.  It couldn't have been in your car, it doesn't go fast enough, crawler.

So not just me then....  In the road I live I think we are the only ones who garage our cars overnight.

Now not everyone has a garage but for those who do....

Never understood these people who fill their garages up with £300 worth of crap and then leave £10000 (or more) worth of car out for any idiot to break into/scratch/leave traffic cones or kebabs on.

Daz

(For those of you who use your garage as a dive storage locker - you are excused, fortunately I have a spare room   )

Chaps!

Surely you're all missing the point about this de-icing of windscreens and the ilk!

Shouldn't your butler or valet be doing this for you as part of his duties AFTER he's cooked you a decent brekkie of good Scottish kippers and boiled eggs?? Or have I missed something??

Fill out the form but don't sign it - it's then a valid response but inadmissable as evidence, therefore they can't prosecute.

that gets used for diving kit (2 lots obviously) and a motorbike, if they nick my car I'll get another one, if they nick my bike or diving kit it they might as well nick my heart.
