Seems to me that far to often we forget that the vast majority of YD members are sport divers, not techies, not GUE/DIR are probably doing it wrong at least according to many but are having fun and in the main are safe doing so. I also don't see anything wrong with some of the giggles that brighten up the winter evening.

Calm down kiddies. I think he is joking. Si's recent dive was far from GUE/DIR - I was with him and I think we broke all the rules.

Howard is being moany because we wouldn't let him on the boat and he had to stay at home and do knitting.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

I can't speak for Howard [the Dud] but what think he means is something I've felt myself recently, and that is that GUE/DIR is being promoted in many threads/posts as being the the best of the best and the solution to all of divings problems, and that only a system like that is worthy and everything else is sub-optimal.

I could be wrong but even Howard Jr's recent thread alludes to that.

I think this to be so, because I've had to get involved in quite a few threads recently in such a way that I haven't had to for a long time so something is definitely afoot, and hopefully it's not the male menopause

I'm not anti-DIR and I passionately believe that everyone should follow the path they choose without the need to defend their choice.....or attack/deride another's.

YD is and should be a broad church encompassing all styles without denigrating anyone else's.
