I'd leave the post but edit to remove the links (ie just leave the text) - no point helping the spammers even a tiniest bit...! (Me, I routinely just hover over links like that just for a laugh - sometimes the URLs even look vaguely plausible.)

I think you will find it hard to beat the "mega dik" emails, apparently accounts for 30% of all spam sent each day:

Ladies always giggled at me and even guys did in the public toilets! Well now I laugh at them because I took MegaDik for 6 months and now my member is much bigger than average size.

Dearest Friend.

My Name is Alhaji Bayero Musa. a Banker with one of the leading Banks here in Nigeria. In my department I discovered an abandoned funds (US$5,000.000) Five Million US Dollars in an account That belongs to one of our foreign customer Dr. David Clemetson, from Seattle, USA who died along with his friends and family in February 4, 2000 in a Plane crash.
CNN - Names of those aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 261 - February 01, 2000

Since I got information about his death, I have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless some Body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines and laws but unfortunately I learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for
the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as his next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill. The banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after Ten years, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and an Indigene here in the Nigeria cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner. Your percentage will be declared to you as soon as you indicate your interest. I will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentage indicated, therefore to enable the immediate move of this fund to you, you must apply first to the bank as relation or next of kin of the deceased indicating.

1. Your full name and address
2. Your telephone and fax number for easy communication.
3. Your company's name and address.

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application, I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch-free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the movement of the money. You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter. Trusting to hear from you immediately. Reply me here: ALHAJIMBAYERO@latinmail.com

Yours Faithfully,

8 years to find me and all he had to do was look on the internet. Nigerian banking isn't what it was - I do hope my shares in the diamond mine are safe

Stroke of genius to add in the cnn archives - full marks for creativity and no marks for exploting somebodies misfortune.

Try putting your email as

ferg _at_ domain.co.uk etc its what most academics do nowadays

I frequently get paypal ones but not from paypal, and false ebay sellers. People will try anything nowadays to make some cash.

My spam filter gets 99% of them- these are the highlights.

There is 1 particularly website we both know that most spammers seem to be harvesting from, shame but there you go
