| The paranoid lunatics are out in force today even down here. No fuel to be had anywhere at any cost NOT because of a reduction in supply but purely due to demand being up by a factor of 10. Panic buying creating an artificial shortage. Thus proving the generally low IQ of the general public as a whole.

well I found out what the new proposals are against the existing. its on the BBC website. its better than nurses get or teachers for that matter. seems fair to me what the company are proposing. or company could continue with the economiclly unviable existing situation and shut the plant in a few years , that would really help wouldn't it. My dad was told nearly 30 years ago that company pensions were going to hit trouble in the early part of the 21st century, this by a , and this is so sweet, aTGWU advisor who said that all members were being advised to take out a personal plan. he got his own and advised me to get my own when i started work. I did and I am going to be just about OK if i retire at 65.

I beleive it was the old BP agreement. Would serve them right if ineos reorganised the company and made all workforce reapply for jobs on far crappier terms. which they could quite easily.

new staffing structure a damn good lawyer and the problem solved. its happened to a company i worked for we all had to reapply for a job and the terms were better for some positions but worse for others, the positions were changed enough to make them different. it was a good way for the company to get rid of deadwood. a lot of the issues at grangemouth seem to be union driven, and I have the greatest respect for unions if they operate properly but a lot of unions work on intimidation , oh and before the unionists get on the soapbox I remember the JEL and how people were intimidated into joining the union, thankfully the union proper realised what was going on and distanced itself from the breakaways that tried to screw Drakes over completion. where will it end if they get what they want this time, another one for silk toilet rolls in a months time ??? as I said earlier unions knew 30 years ago what was coming in the pensions scheme and anybody who joins ineos is going to be of an age where they should have their own ' insurance ' plan anyway.

| All comes back to tax in the end. I was a wee bit annoyed at the furore over the 10p income tax cut. For the first time in living memory the middle income earners would be slightly better off (although most of the gain was taken up with the increase in national insurance). What happens? People complain that those on lower incomes lose out, and there is a re-think? I've lost out on every bloody budget I can remember as a middle income earner with no kids. For once I bloody win, and people complain!! Bloody hate bloody taxes! |
