| If they have been planted right on the boundry line you are legally entitled to cut back anything overhanging your property....even if that means a bare stump on your side (or so a solicitor mate told me). Why not check out the legality of cutting back (to be safe) and then offer the owner the option of sending round contractors to cut it back or you will do it yourself. If you do it yourself make sure you dunp all the cutting back on his side - they are legally his property!! Jez |

| cut it back to your boundary, the law is on your side, you can dispose the cuttings on the tree owners land.# as for permanently trimming it back. cut back,drill hole in trunk introduce creosote 12 months dead tree council will want it down if you complain.
