| Sad day... I was off work last week, helping SWMBO with the new baby... on returning I was told some really sad news.... One of the guys from the building site I was working at had been killed in a road rage incident on the M1 the Thurday.... the week I was off. I didn't know him well.... but it really brings home your own mortality. I can still see him now sat in his cab trundling around the site.... sitting in his car eating his lunch.... 25 is no age. I heard on the news tonight that the police had charged a London man with murder... BBC NEWS | England | Beds/Bucks/Herts | Murder probe after M1 fight death be careful out there..... there are some really nasty people about.

I don't think he will get life, he may be sentenced but all the do good bleeding heart liberals will make sure he only serves a short sentence. thats the justice system in this country unfortunately. the police spend an age getting all the t crossed an the govt stiff em after sentencing.

| I heard about this on the news and thought how sad it was, and it reminded me of the road rage I was the victim of a month ago. That could've ended the same way, and people on here were so right. However much someone winds you up just ignore it. It's not worth it. Not in the end. As for justice. Trust me, he's got a life sentence. He's got to wake up every day for the rest of his life remembering that he killed someone. We all get angry, we all want to hit something, but most refrain. He didn't. He followed through, regardless of blame, and now he's got to live with that forever. And don't tell me he won't. My Mum witnessed someone hitting an 8 year old kid. It was the car in front and she was chatting to her passenger rather than watching that the pedestrian crossing had gone red. She hit him at 40mph. He didn't die, but he should've because his brain damage was so severe. Mum remembered watching the kid "fly" every day of her life. And it wasn't even her fault. Yes, I agree he should be put away for a very very long time, but don't think he'll just carry on with the rest of his life. He's got to live with it every day. And so he should. IMHO! I hope you can remember your colleague with fondness, Twinsetmad.

its been eroded away by the do gooders and reformers and no longer has the deterrent effect. 13 years is a short sentence considering 40 years ago life meant at least 30 years. if its an 18 year old sentenced to life 13 years means he will be 31 when he gets out - free to learn a trade have a family enjoy retirement etc , somehting his victim or victims family can never do. if you read the post properly i did say that while he may be found guilty and sentenced to life he wont serve it. its also entirely feasible his leagal team will get it down to manslaughter, which carries an even lighter sentence. feeling safe in your beds now YD

| Sad news. Sad that someone died for.... what? Sad that someone killed for...what? Sad that we live in an age where we can allow anger to build to such a level, we all need to learn to take a bit of perspective, and chill out -Paul |
