it'll be something to do with aligencies if we attack mugabe we could have world war 3 on our hands .... maybe no country likes(ed) sadam but some may like mugabe, perhaps Zimbabwe have aligences to a countery that has aligences to the USA and therefor to us??? and if we attack them america would try to blow the hell out of us when zimbabwe go to war???? i duno

Hmmmmm.

They're hardly comparable. We didn't do anything about Saddam whilst he was gassing his own people. It wasn't until he invaded his neighbours using what at the time was the world's 4th largest army and threatened to destabilise the region that anything was done.

Look at Burma. No-one does anything about them killing their own people and they do have some oil.

Somehow I don't think this is the reason. There will be politics involved, but the USA will not attack the UK if we should do something like attack Zimbabwe.

Although we may have put Mugabe there, there is no way on earth that we can attack Zimbabwe. Not with our resources spread out and fully committed in the Middle East, and not with any moral leg to stand on.

For the UK Saddam was only about the US and their appeasement post 9/11 anyway. The only reason we attacked Iraq was because Bush wanted to and we had to join him. Bush had a metaphorical gun to Tony's head. If we had refused (and we should have IMO ) we'd have had to be making some new and pretty strong ties with a new strategic partner - Europe for instance.

So does that mean that oil would now be priced in Euros? It seems like a good deal in my opinion! The Euro seems to be a much more stable currency than the dollar. But no....the dollar is king(for the moment!)
