Hateful Music

After last week's survey on personalities and how it relates to music and the thread on here about recommended tunes for a party, it lead me to ponder, not what I like but what I hate.

Rock, metal, goth, classical, opera, jazz: all marvellous.

I used to hate country, but my ex wife liked it and I have developed an immunity to most of it (note, she is my EX), in fact I'd go as far as saying Johnny Cash was a cool guy.

I hate music that is without passion, so that means anything that came off X-factor or whatever pish the BBC equivalent produces.

I, for whatever reason, hate rap. It's just f****g annoying.

Dance music - in a club - fine, anywhere else PULEASE!!!

i guess it has its place just not with me.

im into most music and seen a few bands

As for music without passion. If you mean rap - WTF? Are you familiar with the works of Public Enemy? NWA? Bow your head in shame.

Public Enemy did some brilliant lyrics. Fight the Power and Black Steel are absolute classics (though I still prefer Tricky's drum & bass version). "Who the f**k is John Wayne?"... where else will you find lines like that? I'd forgotten how good It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back was until Zane Lowe played the whole album in one night a couple of months ago. Jurassic 5, Dead Prez, Wu Tang Clan but not the Radio 1 playlist shite. Snoop's Doggy Fizzle Tellyvizzle is classic TV as well, Staba Cracker... brilliant...

Although NWA always makes me think of Beavis & Butthead... "I'm from Compton... huhuuhhhuhuuhhuuuu..."

Pop music rap on the other hand is truly awful.

I'll listen to just about anything except R&B, Pink Floyd or Belle & Sebastian and I really have absolutely no time for jazz.

Ibiza Anthems lives in the car. Brill for long journies north.
Eighties stuff, the gayer the better IMO, life is painful and all of that!
Queen for journies south and excellent for journies with passengers of the type 'cheesy-jokes-on-a-tape-loop', especially as I know all the words and sing it proud!!!
