I would like to dive more than I post, but reading about diving and other peoples experience is the next best thing.

YD is a link to diving and their are still good diving psts on here. You just have to sift through the shit and waffle.

Some people post when they have someting usefull to contribute, some because they have their own ego, some like to think that they are witty and some because they don't have anyting else in their lives.

What the hell, we are all indivilduals.

I don't think so Paul.

Dis me at the scales.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."

Time to dive.

I've found the best way to deal with it is to go through the members list and add all of the Egos, whingers, armchair experts and general tossers to the ignore list. It makes it so much easier to read the thread when you've automatically cut all of the shite out of it. You can't ignore the admin though.

And i'm still trying to get rid of the silly reputation points i've got. I'm sure you lot can help me out.

Bastards.

Now i've managed to triple my original points because of you pair. So what i'd like you to do now is give me as many points as possible. A surefire way of getting bad rep is to insert the word "BOLLOCKS" into every post.

And you're right about my "ignore list" being huge, but you 2 aren't on it yet.

Come on!

Did I detect someone moaning because there are posts here about things other than diving?

Okay, it's a divers forum, and chances are we're all divers. But as someone pointed out, there's more to life (more to my life, anyway) than diving.

Our shared interest in diving is what has brought us all together, both here in the virtual sense and in reality on dive trips. But many of us have become friends as a result and it's perfectly natural to want to share other aspects of our lives. I can't believe any of us are so one dimensional that we've got nothing else to share outside diving (though some of you that I've met have tested this theory to the limit!).

Perhaps my attitudes are different to most. I enjoy my diving; I like being under water and I'm fascinated by the things I see. However, more than anything else I enjoy diving because it is a social activity that brings me into contact with people when they're happy and enjoying themselves. That's of imense value to me, because most of the rest of the time when I'm at work my contact with people is usually when they're at their lowest, miserable and suffering. It's a welcome respite.

So don't be discouraged. Write whatever you like here. We're all friends! (Well, mostly! ).
