just looked at my local MPs expenses. Nice house with a £1408 mortgage per month. Also takes £240 a month to clean it .

I don't mind paying genuine expenses, the rules may not be morally acceptable but if the claims are within the current rules then fair enough. The rules need changing going forward.

The ones that have claimed outside the rules - are guilty of fraud - should be treated as such.

Just had a quick look at my MPs expenses (what could be read of them that is) and . . . . . . . .
£200 to £340 per month on food, HHHMMM must be eating at Claridges every day, I don't spend that in 3 months and I have a familly at home.
A grand a month on rent, £40 odd a month on electric
£153 a month on council tax (second home) I can't afford a second home an I am pretty sure the taxpayer on't pay for one for me
    In 1 (one) month alone 30x"parking tax" ?? @ £9 a go.

Please Sir may I claim some of MY expenses for doing my job eg travelling to/from work (note how this seems to be in the blacked out section), cost of feeding/clothing/housing my familly, any "parking taxes" that I may incur, my council tax and MY direct debits (of which in December 2007 ALONE there was 3x£1103 in direct debits - what for?)
Perhaps they should do as the rest of us have to and if they choose that proffesion (and I use the term loosely) then they should ONLY be allowed to claim the going rate for tax coding (ie job related expenses, of which mine are £120/year against tax so is actually worth about £30 a year and my tool upkeep alone is more than triple that).
If they lived to the same rules as all the rest of us, perhaps they would understand better what the average taxpayers lifestyle and costs were, cos sure as hell, mine isn't like theirs APPEARS to be.

    Chuck them in the clink

Fraud - plain & simple. How many sitting reading this who are lucky enough to have a job (still a redundant Frog) knowing if they put in deliberately fraudulant claims and got caught - would the police be involved? Yes. Simple as. My neighbour used to have his own business and said he sacked people for fiddling £50. Mistakes were fine - someone simply added the figures wrongly and they were pointed out and corrected.

This lot should be investigated, and money seized from accounts or items forcibly sold to recover the amount then face the legal consequences of their actions. I get sod all in benefits - my other half is expected to pay for everything as he's working, and we're now accepting food handouts from my dad - a disabled pensioner which sticks in my throat. Yet this lot of slimy, greedy ba$tards tell blatent lies and get thousands. No wonder the UK is going down the fecking pan.

    Deep breathing exercies. Begin.
Heaven don't want me and Hell are scared I'll take over. Caveo rana.

    Yes.

We`ve just had a guy(ex-employee) on CCTV stealing material from work, realising he was rumbled he brought it back the following day, with a smile on his face.

Police arrested and interviewed him, the claim was "he was only borrowing it, and returned it". Police response: No further action.

This thieving swine goes by the name of Trevor Dempsey and free lances as a PADI instructor FYI.

The police have failed to prosecute anybody after an investigation into any government scandal. Do you think they will suddenly come over competent on this one?

The system is becoming endemicaly corupt and utterly incompetent.
I doubt either the government or the police could run a bath.
wet again, how long do these damn suits last for?

Well it would seem that after our pauperlike MPs have been caught out over expenses and paying back what was not rightfully theirs to take, that they have found another way to line the old threadbare pockets

In total ignorance of this earlier promise
