He got pumped up on O2 for the 10minutes prior to this attempt but still a mean feat.

Static Apnea ? I think I did this for more than 19 minutes when Dynarob told me how much he'd spent on the rebreather.

I bet Minxy wishes you could hold your breath longer than that...

Wierdly, I've tried this. The theory goes that It usually at least doubles and sometimes triples your breath holding ability. At the time my best breath hold was about 5mins30secs (I was about 19 and mega fit). I hyperventilated for about 10 minutes on 100% O2, which is actually quite hard because your body wants you to stop doing it, and tries to make you pass out, but once you get past that then you get a massive metallic taste in your mouth and your blood feels like it's fizzing. Very strange feeling - you can feel everything pumping round your body.

I then sat at the bottom of the pool for 12 minutes, and only came up because I had enough of watching the hairs swirling around at the bottom of the pool. I hadn't done any relaxation so I was just laid there watching the world go by. I reckon with a bit of training I could have got it up to about 15 minutes.

In fact, you've reminded me - I've got it on VHS video somewhere for posterity!
