| On my recent trip our Captain tried to assist the Captain of the Lady Sarah which had got stuck on the reef last Thursday. I hope no one is hoping to go on her in the near future. ![]() |

| Am I the only one who sits on a ferry thinking how cool it would be to dive? I think RIBs are an exception: they're the only boats which are more fun on the surface! Andrew

| Boats do run aground from time to time. When I was a dive guide on the LJV in 1992, during an expeditionary trip from Sharm to Djibouti, we ran on the reef nearly every night when the wind changed. It wasn't good but it happens. The question is how badly was the boat damaged? I believe even the QE2 has run aground. It spoils your day but it's not the same as sinking! |

| The QE2 sat on the bottom when anchored in Torbay about 10 years ago! Had to leave at HW!

| We left Anglesey (just under the Menai bridge) one year in a 70 foor ex-MFV for a weekends diving at the IOM. About 11:30pm I retired to my bunk. Lying there was very relaxing as the boat whent up and down, up and down, up and down, up and ......... oh, no down. The skipper had lost the channel markers and run aground on a sand bank. Fortunately the tide was rising and we floated off an hour or so later. That was just the start of the disasterous trip....... The sea was too rough so we only dived once.... The weather didn't break until Monday so we were all late back to work... The reduction box broke on the way back..... We were 12 miles out doing 1.5 knots with a force 8 'immanent'..... We called the RNLI and they towed us back the last 10 miles Strangley enough I was looking through 'Boats and Ships for Sale' magazine last year and there was the same boat for sale..... Neil
