Permanent Health Insurance

I have been trying to take out permanent health insurance in case I have an accident and cannot work in my profession.
It could be any type of accident/illness, not necessarily diving-related.
However, I am finding that they exclude me from any illness/disability arising from anything related to diving.
I am on the road to doing my instructor's course, so ultimately will be doing some professional work in the diving industry as well.
Does anyone have any experience with trying to take out similar health insurance?
Can you recommend anyone else to approach?
I have tried Liverpool Victoria and Bright Grey with no success.

I've sent you a PM

Time to dive.

Well, I got just about nowhere with Legal & General, who wanted a delightful £60 a month or something like it to cover my sorry ass. It's not like I've got hardly anything to insure!

The hardest bit was looking at the form they sent through after I admitted to being a diver. I had to tick every single box. I knew it wasn't even worth calling them, but I did, and it took several e-mails and phone calls to get it sorted. And then they tell me I could have cover for £6, yes £6 a month if I didn't dive. Interesting. Thanks L&G, but no thanks.

So I've now got better insurance for my car than my life. Could be worse, at least I'll be dead!!!

Hi Claire,

shop around years ago I had cover for any severe injury recieved whilst playing rugby and the quotes varied wildly.

I have life cover with General accident and they did not increase my premiums for diving, instructing, exceeding 30m or solo diving they did however change my age loading from 30 to 45 because of my diabetes

Safe diving,
Steve.
